Paseo Year 1.
Light Curtain installation at Kit Carson Historical Park
Taken with a cheap $50 phone camera!

The Paseo 2018 and 44th  Annual Taos Fall Arts Show are coming up this September!
Don't miss out if you are in the area!

Oh man deciphering the information at first for this event and the other Art show was definitely  confusing. Even as a participating artist the times/dates of things are confusing and shift around. This year the two events are separated. Every year the planning aspect takes a free for all. Not predictable or consistent at all.

The Paseo installation/aka the light show is earlier this year and got approved for funding for two days Yus! Yay! Day 1 I can go myself and Day 2 I can bring friends. This year's theme is Space! I am more enthused than ever.

As of this moment I am not sure if there is a separate Open reception. Usually every art show I have been to has something special going on opening night.

On another note....I'm starting to see my visual thumbprint as a Graphic Artist around town!
I've done menu changes, signs, t shirt designs, fliers, brochures and such to name a few.

These are terrible pictures. This was the best I could do!

This past week I noticed a sign I designed and printed recently for a client. She hung it outside her shop window! I tried a few times to get a better picture. It is the long horizontal black sign inside the window.

Typography has always been one of my weakest suits as an artist. I'm astounded I've been doing quite well in selecting fonts people like for the work I have been doing. I can't draw fonts nicely or graffiti work but recently with my imagination I can visualize and imagine what I want to use. Almost like in when I draw or paint, I can visualize what I want to do and then do it.

This lady loves the Amazone font. Ever since I picked that font for her flier almost a month ago and now every project since she wants it on everything now!

After a month or so I got back into the weekly portrait drawing group. Yay!

A bit rusty and took awhile to get back in gear but I made it through!
Erased my initial sketch and started over.

Right now I am working on two new pieces for an art show and such next month.
Probably next week I'll go more in detail about the upcoming events.

More Devil May Cry 5 news! I am so excited and hyped for this game. Never predicted this game would ever be released or made.

The designs in this game look SSSensational! SSSick! Devil May Cry 1 is my favorite out of all of 5 released so far. The concepts and uniqueness in that game is still awesome to me. Everyone likes #3 but #1 has a special place in my heart.  The ghost and the library are reamped designs! I can't wait for this game to blow my socks off. Some other time I'll have to go in specific detail of why that is one of my favorite games. :)

I admit I got the Devil Trigger song same day I saw the reveal trailer.
Listened to it a ridiculous amount of times.
Cleaned my house listening to this ish.
And I'm still not sick of this song.

Maybe because I associate the song to the hype and excitement of this game.
It probably will be the battle theme every time you encounter a regular enemy.
Man this is the game your parents are worried about you
sitting and swaying back and fourth in a dark room
playing this game and chanting about defeating demons. >__>
I can't help but sing and "dance" along.
Least nobody can watch me anymore play this series.
Haha I get way into it.

Pull my devil trigger!~
Embrace the darkess that's within me~
No hiding in the shadows anymore~

Since last week I've been anticipating  the Perseid shower!
August nights-early mornings of 11-13

The ultimate peak was this weekend on Sunday morning with up to 70-150 meteors per hour!
With any sky gazing it all depends on visibility.
Unfortunately I knew it was going to be a cloudy night yesterday so I didn't bother looking outside. Doesn't help either from the haze of forest fires. Every time except for once when I want to go meteor hunting I always have a common cold. Without fail.

The one time I did not have a cold while meteor hunting was earlier this year I saw the Lyrids. Amazing!
I had near perfect visibility. It was still far off in the distance. But WOW. When people talk about moments that take their breathe away I would name that the second event and rightfully #2.
Number #1 still remains being able to see Jupiter and it's moons through a telescope.

Anyways. It takes 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark to be able to see outer space. Lyrids are early spring and it dayum cold, since it was the middle of the night. I always dress for the occasion...5 layers. 2 heavy duty coats and 3 other layers and 2 blankets. It was terribly cold. I was out patiently waiting and listening to music for about 45 minutes. It was expected facing East was optimum conditions and I was about to give up because I only counted 13 meteors.  When I got up to leave I rolled south east accidentally to get up and boom! Perfect timing and everything I was able to see it.

After that I lost count how many I saw. Think the peak ranges were 30-45 meteors per hour. I really want to see the Perseid one. These are better than any firework display I've ever seen. This is from a person who grew up seeing fireworks in Oakland bay where the fireworks reflect in the water and you can also look across the bay and see more going on San Francisco's side.

I fear tonight might be another cloudy one but not as bad as yesterday. Maybe a small chance for an opening to see part of a spectacular meteor shower. North East is the optimal position for tonight.

Perseid with caution!

Today was a new chapter in my life. Renewed hope and fresh start.
I got my first full-time 9-5 art job. As a Graphic Designer at a local print shop.

The shock and excitement is still seeping in. I am a firm believer of the concept of if something is too good to be true...it generally is in work, love, life and coupons. I have more time to pursue my arts and in the future make video games.  It is a step to where I want to be at.

There is more to life than working a job you are miserable at. I've been unhappy at my current job for a few years. I've been extremely patient and waited for the right opportunity for something better. Definitely has been an emotional journey with numerous highs and lows.

Things will get better and go up from here.

Thank you!
